The TAD 5Y3WGTB BLACKPLATE™ delivers the characteristic rectifier behaviour associated with classic low-power vintage amplifiers. Its response includes the familiar voltage sag under load, resulting in reduced output power and a naturally softer playing feel, closely matching the performance of mid-20th-century 5Y3GT designs.

This model follows the construction principles of historic Sylvania Gold and CBS JAN 5Y3 variants, using a black box-plate structure and carefully selected components. Each tube is tested for diode balance and correct output voltage to ensure reliable operation in circuits that depend on authentic 5Y3 behaviour. It serves as a direct replacement for any 5Y3GT and can also function as an upgrade option for 5Z2P-based designs.

It features a black-plate rectifier structure, controlled voltage drop characteristics, balanced diode performance, and Premium Selection by TAD in Germany.
